MIDDAY MARKET STRUCTURE — OCTOBER 2, 2026

Today’s ETF Structural Heat Map is unusual for an important reason:

A large number of markets opened above their defined IDMM structure.

That substantially reduces the number of ETFs for which the normal ML/MS framework can be observed today and is itself an important structural characteristic of the session.

Among the markets operating within observable structure by approximately 12:21 ET:

ML/MS reversals: 0

ML side reached: 10

Of the 10 ETFs reaching ML1:

• 9 (90%) were at or above the Open

• 5 (50%) had progressed to ML1 or deeper

MS side reached: 8

Of the 8 ETFs reaching MS1:

• 8 (100%) were at or below the Open

• 4 (50%) had progressed to MS1 or deeper

Several ETFs had already extended from ML1 toward ML2 or from MS1 toward MS2.

And through this snapshot:

Zero ML/MS structural reversals.

But today's broader observation may be the location of the Open itself.

When a large portion of a 67-ETF universe opens outside the normal structure, that is information too.

The purpose of IDMM is not to force every market session into a directional interpretation. It is to define the structure first and then measure what actually occurs within—or outside—that structure.

Define the structure → observe the event → measure the outcome → build the probability.
