After a brief career as a trader, I decided to pursue the idea of transforming the 'Art of Trading' into something more scientific. I developed a software application that would analyze intra-day data (1 minute). The software was based on quite a few published methodologies that I had studied. The software would analyze the data and store the results in a database. The results were viewed via a web-based application. Web-based applications were also developed to filter for specific patterns. To determine the effects of trading during or after specific patterns. In 2013, I had two articles published to draw interest in what I was trying to do. I believed that I could determine the intra-day direction of the market, using different formulas. The end goal was to be able to define patterns and to determine their historical significance. It took quite some time to create a way to demonstrate this, but I have compiled 7+ years of applying this model to about 400 stocks in the S&P 500. I am in the process of publishing a book on these studies applying the model to the SPY, DIA, and QQQ from 2/2022 through 1/2023.
